OECD: The OECD undertook its first research initiative on impact investment in 2014 building on a significant body of work undertaken across the organisation on small and medium enterprise, early stage investment, enterprise support, social enterprise and local economic development and employment. The report released in early 2015: Social Impact Investment: Building the Evidence base focused on the G7 countries, Australia and the EU. A second phase of work is in the planning stage. The research is informed by and tested with an international group of experts in meetings 2 -3 times each year and Impact Strategist, Executive Director Rosemary Addis is one of those experts and presented at these meetings in 2013 and 2014.
World Economic Forum: The World Economic Forum has been leading dialogue on social innovation and impact investment. They have developed a number of reports aimed at encouraging participation and practice. Impact Strategist, Executive Director Rosemary Addis was a member of the Reviewing Committee for From Ideas to Practice, Pilots to Strategy II Practical Solutions and Actionable Insights on How to Do Impact Investing and moderated workshops on social innovation and on impact investment at the World Economic Forum Summit in Panama in 2014.
Impact Investing Policy Collaborative Senior Fellow & Global Advisory Council Member: The Impact Investing Policy Collaborative is the first international initiative to focus on policy for and engagement of policy makers in social innovation and investment. It is an initiative of Pacific Community Ventures in collaboration with the Initiative for Responsible Investment at Harvard. Impact Strategist, Executive Director Rosemary Addis is a founding member and Senior Fellow of the Collaborative and a member of its International Advisory Council. Rosemary provided insights and advice for IIPC reports including: Breaking the Binary: A Policy Guide to Scaling Social Innovation, The Impact Investor Project, Impact Investing 2.0.
NSW Government Social Investment Expert Advisory Group: In late 2010 the NSW Government established a Social Investment Expert Advisory Group (SIEAG) to inform and shape its approach to the Social Benefit Bonds. At the time, NSW was pioneering practice as only the second jurisdiction in the world to develop social impact bonds. SIEAG serve as trusted advisers to the NSW Government, working closely with the Premier’s Department and the Treasury. Impact Strategist Executive Director, Rosemary Addis was asked to join the initial 5 member SIEAG chaired by Peter Shergold AC and has helped to shape NSW policy and practice including the landmark Social Impact Investment policy launched in February 2015 and the Office of Social Impact Investment.
